Today I’m going to talk about INVISIBLE ILLNESSES/DISABILITIES

I’ll start with epilepsy as I’ve had that one the longest since I was 13 years old I got epilepsy when I was on the uneven parallel bars in a gymnastics meet and ever since then I’ve had grand mal seizures where I fall and am unconscious for 3 to 5 minutes and then I’m out of it for a couple of days Ive fallen on my face literally, on my head, I’ve fallen totally naked, and in the shower and when I say I’ve fallen I mean I’ve had a seizure, a grand mal seizure and these are the different types of places that I’ve had them. At school, a lot at school, at home, camping, a lot of places except I’ve been very lucky and I haven’t had one single seizure while driving and I’ve been driving for 40 years 44 years actually epilepsy is a an invisible illness or disability as you can’t tell that the person has it by looking at them unless they’re having an actual seizure so usually when you tell people you have epilepsy, they say, and I quote, “but you look so normal”. what a rude thing to say, right ? and then I usually step a little closer to the person and I’ve actually had people back up a little bit and I say, “it’s not contagious, don’t worry about it” you have to mess with people a little bit when they’re being so and what’s the word, ignorant, dumb? Please let me know if you have the same issues and I will continue this probably tomorrow if anyone is interested. Have a beautiful, seizure free day! Jeri & Bear

Not sure why I chose this particular picture forEpilepsy, it just seemed very interesting to me. Besides when I typed in the word epilepsy nothing came up for pics…
